KJR-AM, KUBE-FM and three other Clear Channel Radio stations in Seattle were knocked off the air yesterday when a lower Queen Anne construction project snuffed out fiber optic T1 and copper telephone lines.

The lines went dead at about 11 a.m., interrupting radio broadcasts for various periods of time, said KJR-AM program director Rich Moore.

The stations were operating on their back-up systems as the telephone company was making repairs Thursday afternoon.

KJR-AM was back on the air after 2 1/2 hours, Moore said.
