Bob Edwards back on KPLU starting today

Bob Edwards fans who have missed the former NPR host since his move to pay satellite radio can hear him for free again starting today.

"Bob Edwards Weekend" airs at 10 a.m. on KPLU 88.5 FM. The interview showcase will feature guests that include Jimmy Carter, Newt Gingrich, George Clooney and David Strathairn — the actor who recently portrayed broadcasting legend Edward R. Murrow, the subject of Edwards' 2004 book.

XM Satellite Radio began airing "Bob Edwards Weekend" Jan. 6 as a two-hour show; KPLU is only airing the first hour. Edwards moved to XM in fall 2004 after his unceremonious demotion as host of NPR's "Morning Edition" that spring, a job he'd done for 24 years. His satellite "Bob Edwards Show" airs on XM Public Radio numerous times on weekdays.
