Who would artists see?

Still can't decide what to do? We asked a number of Bumbershoot artists who they would like to see:

Blue Scholars:

Garfield Jazz Combo: Year after year, Clarence Acox leads this talented group of young musicians.

Joe Bataan: The best Afro-Filipino Latin soul singer ever, seriously. According to music journalist Oliver Wang, the first rapper on record (released "Rap-O-Clap-O" months before "Rapper's Delight")!

Wheedle's Groove: An ensemble of Seattle funk legends + Mr. Supreme + Dynomite D. The past, present and future of Northwest soul.

Digable Planets: Catch 'em before they split up and disappear for another 10 years!

Iguales: If you haven't caught them playing live breaks at b-boy events, then you haven't yet fully experienced Seattle hip-hop.

Little Brother: They met in college, make their beats on a computer and middle finger the mainstream — just like us!

The Donnas:

The Locust, Ted Leo, Tegan and Sara, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Visqueen, Smoosh, Elvis Costello, Iggy & the Stooges, the Cops, Garbage.

John Wesley Harding:

Eugene Mirman: I live in New York City, where Eugene makes me laugh more than anyone else.

The Decemberists: My favorite band right now. And don't neglect Tain, the side project — it's almost medieval.

Meredith Monk: Highly recommended for fans of the human voice. Luckily not at the same time as our show — that would be really annoying.

The SKIN project, by Shelley Jackson: You could be one of the 300-odd remaining words.

Iggy & the Stooges: I saw them at All Tomorrow's Parties in L.A., and it was fantastic.

Space Needle: Go up to the top of the Space Needle and get the bird's-eye view of Bumbershoot. Always a favorite thing to do.
