UPN has set a date for its unscripted show "R U the Girl with T-Boz & Chilli," in which the surviving two members of R&B group TLC will sort-of-but-not-exactly look for a replacement for the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.
The show, a talent search starring Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. July 27 and run for nine weeks, which will take UPN into the start of the fall season and, presumably, the return of "America's Next Top Model" to the time period.
Over the course of the show, eight finalists will be put through a series of performance-related challenges, with the winner getting a chance to record a single with Watkins and Thomas for a TLC greatest-hits set. The winner will also perform live with the duo in the show's finale.
The surviving members of TLC insist they're not looking to "replace" Lopes, who died in a car accident in 2002. They're calling the search a bridge to the "next stage of their careers."
Rodriguez to join "Lost"
Michelle Rodriguez ("Girlfight") may get to have that drink with Matthew Fox after all.
After a brief appearance on "Lost" in part one of the show's season finale in May, Rodriguez will join the cast full-time next season, ABC says. She'll be playing a character named Ana-Lucia Cortez.
