Jolie pout launches thousand heartaches

The Arizona Republic

Angelina Jolie

So far, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt have been tasteful enough to avoid pointing fingers over their split.

But that hasn't stopped others from doing the pointing for them.

Some gossips pin the marriage's failure on Aniston's unwillingness to have children.

But others trace the beginning of the end to Pitt's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" co-star, Angelina Jolie.

According to People magazine, the actress beguiled Pitt last year while they were filming the thriller about married assassins, due in June.

"Jennifer knows that Angelina got under his skin, and it bothered her," a source tells People.

Another People source denies that Pitt betrayed his wife with Jolie. "They did not sleep with each other," but Pitt "was obviously taken by Angelina."

But even if Pitt remained firmly in the hanky-panky-free zone, his marriage was on thin ice from the moment he walked on the film set. Because relationships falter and scandals erupt in Jolie's wake. Consider:

Jonny Lee Miller: Co-stars with Jolie in "Hackers." Marries, divorces Jolie.

Dennis Quaid: Co-stars with Jolie in "Playing by Heart." Wife Meg Ryan succumbs to rakish charms of Russell Crowe. Divorce ensues.

Nicolas Cage: Co-stars with Jolie in "Gone in Sixty Seconds." Divorces Patricia Arquette. Marries and divorces Lisa Marie Presley, Michael Jackson's ex.

Ethan Hawke: Co-stars with Jolie in "Taking Lives." Divorce pending for Hawke and Uma Thurman, who have been married since 1998.

Winona Ryder: Co-stars with Jolie in "Girl, Interrupted." Shopping trip goes horribly wrong.

Billy Bob Thornton: Co-stars with Jolie in "Pushing Tin." Marries and swaps blood with Jolie. Divorces Jolie.
