LOS ANGELES — "The Incredibles" opened as the best Pixar movie ever, beating "Finding Nemo" and both "Toy Story" films.

The story about a retired superhero family took to the skies with a $70.5 million opening, according to Exhibitor Relations, a box-office-tracking firm.

("Shrek 2" holds the best opening of a feature animation film, earning $108 million in May.)

That makes "Incredibles" the third-best November opening for any movie ever, bested only by "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" ($90.2 million) and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" ($88.3 million).

Here are the top 10 films:

1. "The Incredibles," $70.5 million.

2. "Ray," $13.6 million.

3. "The Grudge," $12.7 million.

4. "Saw," $11.1 million.
