Snohomish County entertainment By Times Snohomish County Bureau
The new Snohomish County Arts Commission has announced its board members, who will serve on a volunteer basis in staggered terms of two, three and four years. Individuals' term lengths will be determined at the board's first meeting later this fall. The members were nominated by Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon and confirmed by the County Council last week. They are: Sarah Arney of Arlington, a fabric artist, an author and the managing editor of The Weekender, a publication of the Arlington Times and Marysville Globe. Gail Hankinson of Edmonds, a fund-raiser for the Olympic Ballet Theatre and Cascade Symphony Orchestra, and a life patron of the Edmonds Arts Festival. Barbara Cothern Hawksford of Bothell, a board member of the Fine Arts Center of Edmonds and a former state legislator and former county councilwoman. Roxanne Husmann of Sultan, the president of the Sultan Arts Council. James Madison of the Tulalip Reservation, a sculptor of Native American art. Lakshmi Sanjay of Mill Creek, the owner of a dance and music school. Diana Schmid of Everett, an art docent and a former board member for the Arts Council of Snohomish County.
