Chaka Khan concert canceled

Friday's Chaka Khan concert at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle has been canceled due to poor ticket sales. The singer was slated to appear with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra. Refunds are available at place of purchase; no new date will be scheduled.

Nirvana box set due in November

The long-awaited Nirvana box set of unreleased demos, rarities and B-sides will be released in November, according to Billboard. A fan Web site, www.nirvanaclub.com, says the release date will be Nov. 23.

The set has been delayed for years because of disputes between surviving Nirvana band members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, and the late Kurt Cobain's widow, Courtney Love.

The set will include three CDs, with a total of more than 50 cuts, a DVD, which will include footage of a 1987 performance at a house party, and a 60-page booklet.

Universal Music Enterprises, which Billboard said would release the box set, declined to comment.
