A deadly Sentinel from "The Matrix" trilogy used as a force for good? The evidence will be on display here in Seattle.

"Matrix" conceptual artist Geof Darrow has donated one of his two original 30-inch models of the octopuslike machines for auction on eBay to benefit Protect, a pro-children nonpartisan political lobbying group (www.protect.org). The auction begins Tuesday and ends Nov. 14 at www.ebay.com. The rare prop — apparently neutralized in its ability to wipe out human life — will be on display from 4-10 p.m. Wednesday at the Metro Cinemas, 4500 Ninth Ave. N.E. It comes with a handwritten certificate of authenticity and sketch from Darrow.

Darrow and "Matrix" writer-director brothers Andy and Larry Wachowski are national advisory-board members of Protect.

Its goals include ending so-called "incest exception" laws, which allow lighter sentences for child molesters in some states if the victims are related to them.
