The school levy for the Everett School District, which was losing narrowly in early returns, has pulled ahead.
As of Tuesday's vote count, the measure had 50.18 percent in favor, with roughly 400 votes yet to be counted from throughout Snohomish County.
The measure needs a simple majority.
Everett was one of six school districts in King and Snohomish counties that asked voters to help make up for cuts in state schools spending.
The district is optimistic, hopeful and honored by the community's support during challenging economic times, said Mary Waggoner, district spokeswoman.
The state Legislature paved the way for the measures earlier this year by waiving the usual limits for local property taxes for schools.
But only two of the six measures have been approved — in the Edmonds and Northshore school districts. Those in Everett and Riverview are still close.
Measures for the Marysville and Granite Falls school districts were defeated.
