Northwest Harvest's pantry
Northwest Harvest has helped feed hungry people around the state for 40 years. This respected and valued institution is to be congratulated on two grand events.
Northwest Harvest has helped feed hungry people around the state for 40 years. This respected and valued institution is to be congratulated on two grand events.
A $13.5 million capital campaign is drawing to a successful close. Northwest Harvest, essentially a trusted neighbor, enjoyed a gratifying response to the first-of-its-kind fundraising event for the agency.Campaign proceeds are being used to purchase and retrofit a 94,000-square-foot warehouse in Kent.
For an organization that gathers and distributes 18 million pounds of food to 300 food banks and meal programs around the state, a new warehouse is a joyful event. Nine loading docks, racked storage for dry foods, expansive cold storage and freezer space and volunteer working space are all cause to celebrate.
And you are invited.
The warehouse warming is 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday at 22220 West Valley Highway, Kent. Join the fun at RSVP@northwestharvest.org
