SNOQUALMIE — A large fire tore through the Snoqualmie Inn, a large bed-and-breakfast in Snoqualmie, this afternoon, drawing firefighters from around the area to fight it.
About five people, including one guest, were inside the colonial-style structure in the 9000 block of 384th Avenue Southeast when the fire broke out in the kitchen about 12:30 p.m. Everyone made it out safely.
Though the flames spread to the roof of the building, firefighters were able to control the blaze within an hour. As of 2:20 p.m., they were using chainsaws to cut into the roof to find and squelch the last of the hotspots.
The 16-year-old inn's web site says the bed and breakfast has 10 rooms that range between $99 and $150 a night, with a full restaurant open to the public. It also says the Inn is the future home of the Woods Lake Winery.
