Sound Transit is recruiting volunteers for vacancies on an independent citizen-oversight panel that monitors Sound Transit's performance, including its budget and financial management.

Applicants must be registered voters who live within the agency's boundaries (Snohomish-King-Pierce counties) and should be willing to serve at least four years. Panel members are appointed.

If you are interested, a one-page letter of interest outlining your specific skills or experience should be sent to John Ladenburg at Sound Transit, 401 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA 98104. The deadline is Sept. 17.

Shuttles to be offered for Seahawks games

Starting Sunday, Metro will provide nonstop shuttle service to all weekend Seattle Seahawks home games from two Eastside park-and-ride lots. Shuttles will begin boarding about two hours before each game, leaving every 20 minutes or when full, until about 45 minutes before kickoff. The cost is $3 each way.

"Special Shuttle" buses with red "Qwest Field" dashboard signs will serve the South Kirkland Park & Ride, 10610 N.E. 38th Place. Bay 1 at the Eastgate Park & Ride, 14200 S.E. Eastgate Way in Bellevue, will be served by buses marked with orange dashboard signs. Riders will be dropped off at Fifth Avenue South and South Weller Street in Seattle.

After games, return "Special Shuttles" marked with "S. Kirkland P&R" or "Eastgate P&R" dashboard signs will leave Fifth Avenue South as soon as they're full. Visit transit.metrokc.gov for more details, including exact pickup locations.

There will be no pregame shuttle service for the two weeknight home games on Sept. 2 and Dec. 6, but postgame shuttles will be available from the same Seattle location.
