At 12:41 p.m., police started receiving calls from the market at 699 120th Ave. N.E. Police said the suspect had approached the Brinks Armored Car Service guard outside, held his hand under his shirt simulating a weapon and said "Stick 'em up." The security guard responded by drawing his gun and ordering the suspect to the ground. The man fled. Witnesses saw him running northeast toward two stores, so officers surrounded the area and conducted a search. At 1:14 p.m., they found the suspect inside the Best Buy electronics store. He was identified by witnesses and arrested for investigation of armed robbery. Kirkland man still in custody after vehicle theft, robbery KIRKLAND A Kirkland man arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and robbery on Tuesday was still in custody of the Puget Sound Violent Crimes Task Force yesterday. According to Kirkland police officials, the man offered thousands of dollars to another man at a gas station in exchange for his car for use in a robbery. That man refused, police said, and the Kirkland man then stole another car at the gas station, in the 11400 block of 124th Street Northeast. While Kirkland police responded to the report, officials in Woodinville responded to a bank robbery connected with the stolen car.
The stolen car was spotted later, and Kirkland and Bellevue police officers pursued it. The chase ended in a residential driveway and the Kirkland man was arrested.
