The good: Washington State got better quarterback play and freshman J.T. Levenseller had a passable debut, completing two of four passes.

The bad: The Cougars committed five more turnovers, couldn't stop the run, and for the second straight game, didn't get in the end zone. They've now allowed 350 points in Pac-10 games, a record with three to play.

Next up: Arizona, Saturday in Pullman, 2 p.m.
