Play of the game: Lyle Moevao fires a 30-yard pass to Sammie Stroughter on a deep "out" route, and Stroughter sweeps into the end zone for OSU's first TD.
Star of the game: Jacquizz Rodgers, the freshman running-back sprite of the Beavers, ran 23 times for 170 yards to hang on to his Pac-10 rushing lead.
WSU highlight: Louis Bland, a freshman linebacker, picks off Moevao and runs 16 yards for a TD in the second quarter.
WSU lowlight: The Cougars got their third quarterback of the season hurt, as redshirt freshman Marshall Lobbestael was hit low on a rush by Slade Norris early in the fourth quarter and replaced by walk-on Dan Wagner.
Injuries: QB Lobbestael (knee), out two to four weeks; OT Vaughn Lesuma (shoulder), severity unknown; TE Devin Frischknecht (ankle sprain).
He said it: WSU coach Paul Wulff, on Lobbestael's injury and his team's inability to avoid losing quarterbacks: "The offensive playbook is about at 20 percent [of capacity]. He doesn't have enough help around him."
Next week: USC at WSU, 12:30 p.m. Saturday, FSN.
