Play of the Game: After Washington State scored its first touchdown to close to 18-6 in the third quarter, Oklahoma State's Perrish Cox fielded the ensuing kickoff on his 10-yard line and ran untouched 90 yards through the middle of the field for a score.

Star of the Game: Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, using his 6-foot-2 height to advantage against the smaller WSU cornerbacks, pulled down seven passes for 90 yards, including a handful in the second half. He also returned a punt 42 yards.

WSU highlight: After a first half of just 51 total yards — 29 on the ground — WSU cranked up its ground game after intermission, finishing with 114 yards rushing.

WSU lowlight: Special teams hurt the Cougars all day as they allowed punt returns of 42 and 68 yards in addition to the score on the kickoff return, and also missed an extra point.

Injuries: CB Alfonso Jackson (hip flexor), questionable for next week; LB Jason Stripling (foot; was due for X-ray Saturday night).

He said it: WSU coach Paul Wulff: "We haven't had great rhythm in practice on offense. So I kind of knew we weren't going to be able to do it in the game."

Next: California, at Pullman's Martin Stadium, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. (FSN).
