WSU vs. Oklahoma State Cougars (0-0), Cowboys (0-0)

What to expect: It figures to be a high-scoring game unless the defenses can make a case otherwise. Cowboys quarterback Zac Robinson operates a balanced offense — 243.2 yards a game both rushing and passing last year — behind a line that allowed only 11 sacks. But it remains to be seen whether OSU has shored up a defense that prevented it from doing better than 7-6 in '07.
Notes: OSU receiver Damian Davis will sit out with a one-game suspension. WSU had two significant personnel hits this week, when DT Andy Roof was expelled by WSU's student-conduct board the same day that OT Dan Rowlands quit the team because of chronic shoulder problems.
Injuries: OSU: WR William Cole (knee), out; WSU: LT Vaughn Lesuma (back), out; WR Daniel Blackledge (hamstring), doubtful; WR Jeshua Anderson (hernia), out.
Prediction: Cowboys are entrenched, Cougars are getting used to a new regime. OSU, 37-24.
