Brandon Gibson, the Washington State wide receiver who led the Pac-10 in receiving yards with 1,180 this past season, has decided to return for his senior year.
Gibson had submitted his name for the NFL draft. After receiving undisclosed feedback on where he would be taken in the draft, he decided to stay at WSU.
Gibson, who won't turn 21 until August, also led the Pac-10 in yards per catch (17.6). He was a first-team All-Pac-10 selection. He caught the winning touchdown pass in the Apple Cup in the final minute.
Gibson, who played at Rogers High School of Puyallup, led the Pac-10 in receiving yards despite missing one game with an injury.
Former Washington State receiver Jason Hill faced a similar decision before the 2006 season and also returned for his senior season. Hill was taken in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft by San Francisco.
In other news, the Cougars have received a commitment from Andrei Lintz, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound tight end from Meridian High School outside Bellingham, according to a WSU official.
