Washington State made it official Friday — Mike Levenseller will remain on the football coaching staff.
But Levenseller and running backs coach Steve Broussard might be the only two holdovers from Bill Doba's staff.
New coach Paul Wulff is bringing five assistants to Pullman who were with him at Eastern Washington last season.
With seven spots filled, Wulff has only two left.
"[Levenseller] is one of the best wide-receivers coaches in the country and he is a Cougar through and through," Wulff said in a statement. "He knows this program, its traditions and history as well as anyone, and will be a great resource for moving forward."
Levenseller's son, J.T., will join the Cougars as a scholarship quarterback in January. He "gray-shirted" this fall and didn't enroll. His high-school accomplishments include leading Pullman High School to the Class 2A state championship in 2005.
Mike Levenseller played at WSU from 1975-77 and remains in the top 10 on some of the school's career receiving lists such as yards in a season (1,124, fourth). All but one other player on that list was coached by Levenseller.
Levenseller, who played in the NFL, has been on the WSU coaching staff since 1992. He served as offensive coordinator the past seven seasons in addition to coaching receivers.
He is likely to be receivers coach under Wulff. Todd Sturdy, from EWU, is expected to be the offensive coordinator.

• WSU junior wideout Brandon Gibson made the third-team All-America squad of Phil Steele, a national publisher of a football guide and Web site.
