Idol Confessions

It's corny, it's predictable, it's often ear-piercing, but many of us can't get enough of it. Yup, it's "American Idol."

"American Idol" Top 7 results show: Who will leave tonight?

Posted by Bob Payne

hudson0415.jpgI have a suggestion for the producers at "American Idol." For tonight's Top 7 results show (9 p.m., Ch. 13), how about voting off one of the judges so they don't have to repeat last night's fiasco?

To save time last night, only two of the four judges critiqued each of the singers, which means you only got to hear Simon Cowell half the time. Instead of Simon, you only got Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson. No thanks! Last night I would really have liked to hear what Simon though of Kris Allen's performance. Oh well!

And why didn't they just stretch the show to 90 minutes? They could have made another $7 million in ad revenue!

Meantime, maybe they'll do something fun tonight and have guest mentor Quentin Tarantino direct Ryan Seacrest, Simon, Paula Abdul and Jackson in a shootout! One can only dream ...

Tonight's guest performers are "Idol" finalist and Oscar-winnerJennifer Hudson (pictured) and teen mega-star Miley Cyrus. Both recorded their performances in advance of the live show tonight.

Time for a results prediction:

The bottom two will be:

- Matt Giraud
- Lil Rounds

And the voters will get it right and send Lil Rounds home.

What's your prediction?

If you just can't wait ...

... for the results show to air here in the West, come join me for the spoiler live blog beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific.
