Seattle U men edge Longwood in overtime, 100-99

FARMVILLE, Va. — Aaron Broussard's layup with 1 second left capped a Seattle University rally in the Redhawks' 100-99 overtime victory against Longwood on Saturday.

The Redhawks, who trailed 99-95 with 16 seconds left, got a three-pointer from Chad Rasmussen with 13 seconds to go. After Longwood's Tristan Carey turned it over, Clarence Trent missed a three for Seattle.

But Eric Wallace came down with the offensive board and found Broussard, who finished with 33 points.

The Redhawks (7-14) trailed 51-32 at halftime and scored 21 points off 14 turnovers for a 54-35 advantage in the second half. Seattle U shot 53.5 percent from the field (23 of 43), and outscored Longwood 22-8 in the paint in the second half.

Cervante Burrell added 14 points and 12 assists and Rasmussen had 18 points for Seattle U.

Longwood (8-16) was led by Antwan Carter with 27 points and 13 rebounds.
