Austen Powers scored a game-high 21 points, and Seattle University extended its winning streak to nine games with a 78-54 rout of host Cal State Bakersfield on Monday night.
The Redhawks (17-6) were never challenged in the game, using a 10-0 run to take a 23-8 lead halfway through the first half, and led 37-21 at halftime.
Bakersfield cut the deficit to 13 on a Bryan Emanuel layup four minutes into the second half, but got no closer as the Redhawks ran away with the 24-point win.
Seattle U. shot 52.7 percent (29 of 55) from the field, including 45.5 (5 for 11) from three-point range.
"This team is playing as well together as any team I have had in eight years here at Seattle University," coach Joe Callero said.
Michael Wright had 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Redhawks, who also got 13 points from Mike Boxley and 11 from Aaron Broussard.
Bakersfield (6-19), which lost its fourth straight, was led by the 12 points of Terrence Johns. No other Roadrunner reached double figures, as the team shot just 38 percent from the field.
