WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Kyle Singler collected 20 points and 12 rebounds, and No. 4 Duke beat ninth-ranked Purdue 76-60 Tuesday night in an ACC/Big Ten Challenge game.

Jon Scheyer scored 20 points and Nolan Smith added 12 for the Blue Devils (8-0).

Robbie Hummel had 15 points and eight rebounds and JaJuan Johnson added 12 points for the Boilermakers (5-2). E'Twaun Moore, Purdue's leading scorer, went scoreless in the first half and finished with 10 points.

Duke outrebounded Purdue 49-29 and held the Boilermakers to 37 percent shooting. Purdue was 2 for 13 on three-pointers.

"I'm proud of our guys," Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "We beat a really good basketball team tonight. It was a great environment."

Duke improved to 10-0 all time in ACC/Big Ten Challenge competition. It was the Blue Devils' first test against a ranked team this season.

Purdue lost to Oklahoma, ranked No. 6 this week, in overtime Friday in the NIT Season Tip-Off final.

At No. 7 Notre Dame 102,

South Dakota 76

Ryan Ayers was 9 of 14 from three-point range for a career-high 35 points and Kyle McAlarney was 7 of 13 on threes for 27 points as the Irish (6-1) crushed the Coyotes (3-5).

McAlarney narrowly missed a third consecutive 30-point game as Notre Dame went 19 of 37 from three-point range.

Ayers, who set his previous career high with 19 points against Furman on Sunday, had 25 points by halftime, making 7 of 10 threes.

Jesse Becker had 24 points for South Dakota.

Pac-10 men

At Arizona 84, Loyola Marymount 57

Jordan Hill posted his fifth double-double of the season, with 15 points and 17 rebounds, as the Wildcats (5-1) hammered the Lions (0-7).

Arizona reserve Zane Johnson had a career-high 17 points while making 5 of 9 three-pointers. The Wildcats made a season-high 12 threes.

Nic Wise had 15 points and Chase Budinger added 10 for Arizona.

Jarred DuBois led Loyola Marymount with 16 points.

No. 5 Texas A&M 77,

at Stephen F. Austin 36

Freshman forward Adaora Elonu had 17 points, and Tyra White and Tanisha Smith added 13 apiece to help the Aggies (7-0) rout the Jacks (4-3).

No. 7 Tennessee 71,

at George Washington 59

Glory Johnson scored 16 points and the Vols (6-1) compensated for a poor-shooting, turnover-filled night by dominating the glass to hold off the Colonials (4-3).

Tennessee shot a mere 35 percent and committed 19 turnovers, but outrebounded the Colonials 51-35.

Pac-10 women

At USC 81, Michigan 53

Camille LeNoir scored 19 points as the Women of Troy (4-1) cruised past the Wolverines (4-3). USC freshman Ashley Corral of Vancouver, Wash., scored 12 points.

Other game

At Eastern Washington 73,

Montana Tech 63

Julie Piper collected 15 points and 14 rebounds in 22 minutes to help the Eagles (3-3) defeat the Orediggers (3-5).

Eastern's Nicole Scott also had a double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles had a 50-34 rebounding advantage.
