PULLMAN — Taylor Rochestie and freshman Klay Thompson each scored 17 points as Washington State beat Sacramento State 76-55 Friday night.

Rochestie hit 5 of 6 from behind the three-point line and added 10 assists for his first double-double as a Cougar. It was the 100th game of his career.

Mike Edwards scored 10 points for Sacramento State (0-3).

Sacramento State managed to score 28 points in the first half despite 11 turnovers. The Hornets kept the first half close by hitting 50 percent from the field.

Washington State (3-0) pulled away in the second half with crisp shooting, including an impressive 52 percent from the three-point line.

No. 4 UCLA 77, Southern Illinois 60

Alfred Aboya scored 22 points and Darren Collison had 17, helping the Bruins win the consolation game of the 2K Sports Classic in New York.

The Bruins (3-1) struggled in a semifinal loss to Michigan, turning the ball over 17 times. They had their own problems with SIU (2-2), a team known for its gritty defense, before a 20-2 run covering more than six minutes late in the game made it much more comfortable.

Oregon 84, at UC Irvine 77

Tajuan Porter scored 23 points to lead the Ducks (2-1) past the Anteaters (0-3).

Ty Lawson led six players in double figures with 19 points, including Tyler Hansbrough who had 13 in his season debut, as the Tar Heels (3-0) beat the Gauchos (1-2).

No. 2 Connecticut 89, La Salle 81

Kemba Walker scored 23 points and Jeff Adrien added 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Huskies (3-0) to a hard-fought victory over the Explorers (1-2) in the Paradise Jam in Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands.

At No. 6 Pittsburgh 86, Akron 67

Sam Young gave Akron (2-1) problems no matter where he was on the floor, scoring 26 points and taking control during a Pittsburgh surge late in the first half that carried the Panthers (3-0) to victory.

No. 8 Notre Dame 65, at Loyola Marymount 54

Luke Harangody had 27 points and 17 rebounds, and the Irish (2-0) staggered past the winless Lions (0-4).

No. 10 Duke 71, Michigan 56

Kyle Singler scored 15 points to lead the Blue Devils (5-0) over surprising Michigan (3-1) in the championship game of the 2K Sports Classic.
