Three members of Western Washington University's No. 1-ranked women's varsity eight have been awarded All-America honors.
Junior Staci Reynolds, of Vancouver, Wash., was named for her second straight year. Senior Metta Gilbert and senior Samantha Marikis, of Republic, were selected for the first time to the 2008 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/NCAA Division II Pocock Women's Rowing All-America team.
All three will be going for a fourth straight national title this weekend at Gold River, Calif. (Lake Natoma).

The Gonzaga University men's rowing program received two bids to the IRA National Championships.
Gonzaga will enter a varsity eight and freshman eight in this year's races set for June 5-7 at Cooper River in Camden, N.J.

• Caroline Kim of Vancouver, B.C., shot a 2-under 69 on the Cascade Course at Gold Mountain Golf Complex outside Bremerton to be the medalist in qualifying for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. Also qualifying were Seo Hee Moon, a sophomore at Kamiak High School who won the 2007 4A state high-school title, and Catherine Allen of Bellingham. Moon shot 71 and Allen 73. The championship will be June 16-21 at the Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wis.
• John Clark, a 6-foot-10 post player from Cochise Junior College in Douglas, Ariz., has signed a letter of intent to attend Eastern Washington.
• Chris Scott, a point guard from Las Vegas has declared his intent to play at Central Washington.
