Third-ranked Arizona State wrapped up a series sweep with a 13-7 victory over Washington on Sunday at Packard Stadium in Tempe.

Huskies starter Nick Haughian (6-5), who became the fourth Washington pitcher to record at least 100 strikeouts in a season, suffered the loss. Haughian, who entered the game as the Pac-10 strikeout leader with 99, got five more, but allowed eight runs on nine hits over six innings for the Huskies (31-20 overall, 10-11 Pac-10).

ASU freshman Seth Blair (4-1) earned the win, allowing three runs on six hits over 5-2/3 innings.

Washington took the lead in the second when Jarett Jackson hit his first homer of the season, a solo shot the opposite way to right-center.

ASU (44-9, 15-6) scored five runs in the fourth. With one out, Ike Davis hit a pop to shallow right field. UW second baseman Bradley Boyer lost the ball in the sun and it fell for a double.

Catcher Petey Paramore followed with a single and Kiel Roling laced a double to left to score one. After a walk loaded the bases, the Sun Devils got a bunt single to bring home one runner, and a sacrifice bunt brought in another.

A two-run single from Ryan Sontag drove in two more to put ASU ahead 5-1, and UW never closed the gap.

ASU remained atop the Pac-10 standings.

Note

Lodrick Stewart, 24, a former USC basketball player who attended Rainier Beach High, was arrested and charged with battery early Saturday morning in Lawrence, Kan., according to the Lawrence Journal-World.

An incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. outside a downtown bar.

Lodrick Stewart allegedly struck a 23-year-old Kansas student in the face after a verbal altercation, Lawrence police said. The student fell and hit his head on the concrete. He was flown to KU Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., where he was in good condition Saturday morning, police said. Lodrick Stewart was booked at the Douglas County Jail and later released on $100 bond.

Stewart is the twin brother of former KU basketball player Rodrick Stewart, who graduated from KU on Sunday.
