Brazil's national soccer team is bringing a lineup featuring three big names to Seattle for its international men's match against Canada on May 31 at Qwest Field.
Kaká, an attacking midfielder who was the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007, and forwards Alexandre Pato, Robinho and Adriano are on the 25-man roster for Brazil for the Seattle match.
Adriano won't appear in Seattle and is expected to join the team in June for World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Argentina.
Pato, 18, and Kaká are stars for powerhouse Italian team AC Milan, while Robinho helped Real Madrid to Spain's La Liga championship earlier this month.
Ronaldinho, the 2004 and 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year, has been bothered by a hamstring injury and was left off the roster.
Ticket sales are approaching 30,000 for the match.
They can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 206-628-0888, visiting www.soundersfc.com or www.ticketmaster.com, and in person at all Ticketmaster outlets or the Qwest Field box office, open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
UW women's assistant leaves
Katie Abrahamson-Henderson, a Washington women's basketball assistant coach last season, has been hired as an associate head coach by Indiana.
Abrahamson-Henderson, who will start June 1, was 95-61 in five seasons at Missouri State before being hired by first-year coach Tia Jackson.
The departure is the fifth for the program. Players Kali Bennett, Jess McCormack, Candice Nichols and leading scorer Katelan Redmon have also left.
