The Lopez twins are going pro together.
Stanford sophomore Robin Lopez is joining his 7-foot brother Brook in entering the NBA draft.
The brothers made their announcement to The Associated Press on Monday through their mother, Deborah Ledford.
It was expected Brook would declare himself eligible for the NBA; Robin's announcement was more of a surprise. They were prep standouts in Fresno, Calif., and came to Stanford together. They will depart the Cardinal as a tandem, too.
"This has been a very difficult decision for me because I really enjoyed my two years at Stanford," Robin Lopez said in a statement released to the AP. "I have always hoped I would have an opportunity to play in the NBA and I feel now is the right time to make that dream a reality."
Brook Lopez, a third-team All-American and a first-team Pac-10 selection, averaged 19.3 points and 8.2 rebounds to go with 56 blocks this season.
Robin averaged 10.2 points and 5.2 boards and blocked 83 shots.
They will hire agents and thus forgo their remaining two seasons of college eligibility, their mother said.
"That's something we're still working on and finalizing," she said. "It's a definite decision. We'll be hiring agents."
The brothers said they will return to Stanford over time to complete their degrees.
"We wish they were staying, but they made their decisions," Stanford athletic director Bob Bowlsby said.

team lacks a senior
North Carolina junior Tyler Hansbrough and Kansas State's Michael Beasley were unanimous selections to The Associated Press' All-America team.
For the first time since the AP started choosing All-America teams in 1948, no senior was picked for the team.
Beasley and Kevin Love of UCLA made it two consecutive years there were two freshmen chosen by the media panel.
Sophomore D.J. Augustin of Texas and junior Chris Douglas-Roberts of Memphis rounded out the selections, shutting out the seniors.
Notes
• Western Kentucky coach Darrin Horn, 35, is leaving for South Carolina, after the Hilltoppers' best finish in the NCAA tournament in 15 years.
Horn told the school's president he had accepted an offer from the Gamecocks to replace Dave Odom, who retired at the end of the season, WKU spokesman Bob Edwards said. Horn was 111-48 in five seasons.
• New Mexico gave coach Steve Alford, 43, a three-year contract extension through the 2015-16 season.
• Freshman guard Keegan Bell will transfer from Vanderbilt when the semester ends. He averaged 2.7 points.
• Duke freshman forward Taylor King, who averaged 5.9 points, has decided to transfer.
• Host Tulsa beat Bradley 73-68 in the first game of the best-of-three final series in the College Basketball Invitational. Game 2 is Wednesday in Peoria, Ill. Game 3, if necessary, will be Friday in Tulsa.
