The Washington baseball team overcame a couple of early deficits Tuesday to beat Hawaii-Hilo 11-6 at Husky Ballpark.
It was the 10th consecutive win for the Huskies (15-6), their longest winning streak since 11 in a row in 2003. Washington reliever Ben Guidos (2-0) worked three innings, allowing one run, for the victory. UW's David Bentrott finished the day 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles; Kyle Conley and Joey Dunn each had three runs batted in.
More baseball
No. 28 Washington State beat Gonzaga 6-2 in Pullman. Chad Arnold (2-2) of the Cougars (15-7) threw six innings and allowed two runs on six hits, a walk and three strikeouts. Gonzaga fell to 15-10.
Golf
Washington's women shot a final round of 20-over 308 to finish fourth at the Oregon Duck Invitational at the Eugene Country Club. The Huskies finished the tournament at 59-over 923; Oregon took the women's team title at 36-over 900. Two Cougars placed in the top 10 to lead the Washington State women to a sixth-place finish.
The men of Washington, who started eighth Tuesday on the team leaderboard, shot 9-over 297 in the final round to finish in sixth place at the Emerald Valley Golf Club. The WSU men tied with Idaho for eighth; San Diego State took the team title.
• Western Washington's Kaitlin Parker fired a 1-under par 71 to tie for fifth in medalist play and help the Vikings finish fifth among 18 teams at the Grand Canyon University invitational at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
Tennis
The 20th-ranked Washington men (12-4) swept Santa Clara 7-0 in Palm Springs, Calif.
• The Eastern Washington men were swept 7-0 by Fresno Pacific in Fresno, Calif.

• Jason Goodson has been named an assistant coach for the Washington State women's soccer team.
• Washington gymnast Ashley Houghting was named the Pac-10 event specialist of the week.
• The West Coast Collegiate Baseball League, an eight-team summer collegiate league based in the Pacific Northwest, hired Ken Wilson as its first full-time president. Wilson was a member of the Seattle Mariners broadcast team from 1977 to 1982.
