College Football | Top prep QB Terrelle Pryor chooses Buckeyes over rival Michigan

JEANNETTE, Pa. — It was Wednesday morning, and Terrelle Pryor still wasn't sure where he would play college football.
Michigan or Ohio State?
That was the question that burned in his mind.
The choice weighed so heavily on the 6-foot-6, 225-pound quarterback, he didn't feel like eating.
That was the scene Pryor, his family and coaches described in the Jeannette High auditorium, where Pryor announced his decision to attend Ohio State shortly after noon.
After waiting for everyone at the podium to be seated, he smiled and said: "If everyone's here, Ohio State."
He then took off his jacket to reveal an Ohio State T-shirt, and put on an OSU hat.
Then the two-sport star, ranked as the No. 1 football prospect in the country by rivals.com, signed his national letter of intent.
"I couldn't go wrong either way," said Pryor, 18. "I could have went to Michigan and maybe started. At Ohio State, Todd Boeckman is still there, but I can learn from the senior. There never was a leader. It was just feel[ing] comfortable with Jim Tressel. Not that I wouldn't be comfortable with coach [Rich] Rodriguez, but that's my choice.
"I shouldn't feel bad right now, but I feel sort of bad because I said no to Michigan."
He talked to Tressel and Rodriguez on Wednesday morning, when Rodriguez was still recruiting him.
The signing capped one of the greatest prep careers in Pennsylvania history. Pryor, who won a state title with Jeannette in December, is the only Pennsylvania player to rush and pass for at least 4,000 yards. He also scored 2,285 points in basketball, a team with which he also won a state title last weekend.

He runs a 4.35 40-yard dash and has a powerful right arm, evoking comparisons to Titans quarterback Vince Young.
Much of what Pryor has done in the last month suggested that Ohio State was the front-runner.
He had said he wouldn't focus on football until after the basketball season. As a result, he put off an official visit to Penn State.
But Pryor attended the Ohio State-Wisconsin basketball game in Columbus on Feb. 24, a day after leading Jeannette to the Class AA championship in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League.
Autopsy proves inconclusive in Central Florida player's death
ORLANDO, Fla. — An autopsy is inconclusive on the death of a Central Florida player.
The Orange County Medical Examiner's office said Wednesday that more testing will be needed to determined what killed 19-year-old Ereck Plancher on Tuesday. The office says it will take several weeks to complete.
Note
• Star running back Branden Ore will not play for Virginia Tech next year, a decision reached after meetings with coach Frank Beamer.
Ore would have been a redshirt senior. On his Facebook profile he said he was "making life decisions right now."
"We have decided that it would be best for Branden to pursue other opportunities," Beamer said in a statement Wednesday. "Branden has had many great moments here at Virginia Tech, and we wish him well."
Ore led the Hokies in rushing with 992 yards and 10 touchdowns.
