WSU starting forward Robbie Cowgill got into early foul trouble against the Warriors from Lewiston, Idaho. So in came 6-foot-7 Daven Harmeling, who scored a game-high 17 points and went 3 of 4 from three-point range. Caleb Forrest had 13 points off the bench for the Cougs.

OTHER EXHIBITION GAMES

A nine-point Western Washington lead at halftime quickly disappeared as Fresno State came alive for a 97-67 home exhibition victory. The Vikings, who led 45-36 at the intermission, were outscored 61-22 in the second half. Western was led by center Steve Severin's 16 points and 11 rebounds.

• Washington State (10-4-3, 3-3-1 Pac-10) took Stanford (13-2-3, 4-1-2) to overtime before Shari Summers scored 6:01 into the extra period to lead the Cardinal to a 2-1 home win.

Despite a 0-0 tie at home against Saint Mary's (6-7-2, 2-5-2), Gonzaga (9-3-4, 4-1-4 West Coast Conference) moved into a tie for second place.
