Allison Scurich and Kiersten Dallstream each scored goals to lead the Washington State women's soccer team past host Washington 2-1 Friday.
The win was the fourth straight for the Cougars (9-2-2, 2-1-0 Pac-10) over the Huskies and their eighth on the road this season, equaling the school record set in 2000.
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute when Anna Miller sent a corner kick to the center of the box and Scurich scored her third of the season on a header from 8 yards. Miller's assist was the 14th of her career and moved her into a tie for fifth on the Cougars' career list.
Washington State increased its lead to 2-0 in the 64th minute when Dallstream tallied her team-high eighth of the season on a rebound of a shot by Carly Dobratz.
The Huskies (4-9, 1-2), who outshot the Cougars 16-6, tallied their goal in the 73rd minute when Shuree Hyatt picked up a loose ball 12 yards out, dribbled to the goal and beat Brynn Bemis to cut the WSU lead to 2-1.
Allen paces UW men
Ely Allen's first career hat trick helped lift the Washington men's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over San Diego State at Husky Soccer Field.
The victory snapped a four-game winless streak for the Huskies (6-5-2, 1-2-1 Pac-10), who put an end to San Diego State's eight-game unbeaten streak and handed the Aztecs (7-2-3, 3-1) their first conference loss of the year.
Allen powered the UW offense with goals in the 41st, 65th and 88th minutes, upping his season total to seven. The only score of the game for the Aztecs came on a penalty kick by Kraig Chiles in the 89th minute.
The three-goal output was the most for Washington since a 5-1 win on Sept. 2 against Cal State Bakersfield.
