LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas defensive end Marcus Harrison was suspended indefinitely after being arrested late Friday night in Fayetteville on a felony drug charge and several misdemeanors.
The 23-year-old senior was driving near his apartment when an officer stopped him, according to a Fayetteville police report.
According to the report, Harrison consented to a search and the officer found a small plastic bag containing an Ecstasy pill. The officer reported finding one partially smoked "marijuana cigar" and another unsmoked cigar. Both tested positive for marijuana, the report said.
Harrison, freed on $5,290 bond, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Notes
• Receiver Sammie Stroughter surprised Oregon State teammates by showing up at practice, four days after it was announced he would take a leave of absence from the team. Beavers coach Mike Riley said Stroughter's full return to the team was undetermined and that he was "testing the water."
• Herman Mitchell, 17, a prep linebacker who orally committed to play at Oklahoma next year, was fatally shot with a rifle after a fight at a Houston apartment complex, authorities said. Emile "Rusty" Lewis, 19, was charged with murder.
