StarbucksMelody, possibly the chain's most knowledgeable customer, launches blog
Posted by Melissa Allison
Unlike Winter, the single-named wonder who fears for his soul if a Starbucks store closes before he gets there, Melody Overton is a font of Starbucks history, ideas and information.
She comments frequently at StarbucksGossip.com (run by Jim Romenesko) and MyStarbucksIdea.com (run by Starbucks), she Tweets and now -- it had to happen -- she blogs.
Last week, Overton launched StarbucksMelody.com, and already she has a scoop: Starbucks is testing mixed berry and vanilla honey Vivanno flavors in Sacramento.
As folks who follow her know, Melody also has a full-time job in downtown Seattle but finds time to attend Starbucks events like today's send-off of a crew pitching its Via instant coffee from here to New York City. (That's Melody on the right in the top photo.) Via has been in Seattle, Chicago and London since spring but goes nationwide in the U.S. and Canada on Sept. 29.
Brad Nelson, from Starbucks' digital team, is already Tweeting about the trip, which will include a visit to a suspension bridge in Vancouver, B.C., and speed walking in Montana (hopefully not across the whole state).
Other stops: North Bend (Wa.), Missoula, Billings, Denver, Lincoln, Des Moines, Chicago, Erie (Pa.) and Boston.
