Free pastries at Starbucks on Tuesday until 10:30 a.m.
Posted by Melissa Allison
A bid to get more folks to sample its new baked goods? Or another volley in the coffee wars, now that McDonald's is giving away free mochas on Mondays through Aug. 3?
Either way, participating Starbucks will give a free pastry with coffee purchase to anyone with an invitation on Tuesday until 10:30 a.m. (Free pastries are not available at Starbucks shops in airports, Barnes & Noble stores and Hawaii.)
A few hours later, the company releases fiscal third-quarter earnings.
