The U.S. Census Bureau has just released population, race and age data for Washington. To begin, select the one category you want to explore and deselect the others. (Note that when multiple boxes are checked, only data from one of the categories is visible.) Zoom in and pan to see your census tract. Roll over the tract to see how that area has changed in the last 10 years. Data is included from King, Snohomish, Pierce and Kitsap counties, as well as the state as a whole.

Census: More residents sinking into poverty
In the larger cities and counties of Washington state, like the nation overall, annual household incomes have gone down while poverty rates have risen, according to findings of the American Community Survey.
