How the major stock indexes fared on Tuesday
Stock indexes closed higher Tuesday as Greece appeared close to announcing a deal with creditors to cut its debt. The Dow Jones industrial average ended at its highest level since May 2008.

Stock indexes closed higher Tuesday as Greece appeared close to announcing a deal with creditors to cut its debt. The Dow Jones industrial average ended at its highest level since May 2008.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 33.07 points, or 0.26 percent, to close at 12,878.20.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 2.72 points to 1,347.05.
The Nasdaq composite rose 2.09 points, or 0.07 percent, to 2,904.08.
For the week so far:
The Dow is up 15.97, or 0.1 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 2.15, or 0.2 percent.
The Nasdaq is down 1.58, or 0.1 percent.
For the year so far:
The Dow is up 660.64 points, or 5.4 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 89.45 points, or 7.1 percent.
The Nasdaq is up 298.93 points, or 11.5 percent.
