Deanna Dawson was named executive director of the Suburban Cities Association (SCA), a nonprofit association based in Tukwila that represents the suburban cities of King County.

Dawson, a former member of the Edmonds City Council, has practiced law in the public and private sectors and serves as a board member for several community-service organizations.

Commercial real estate: Ed Turpin was named director of asset services at Commerce Real Estate Solutions, a Cushman & Wakefield Alliance, Seattle.

Banking: Frank Spicer was hired as vice president and relationship manager at Banner Bank, Seattle.

Conventions: Kate Kurkjian was named director of convention services at Seattle's Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Cruise lines: Rob Coleman was promoted to vice president, North America field, charter and incentive sales at Holland America Line, Seattle.

Government: Kathy Hsieh was named cultural partnerships and grants director for the city of Seattle.

Law: Brian Bentcover joined Davis Wright Tremaine, Seattle. Vandana Harris, Allison Schwartzman and Sabina Shapiro were promoted to members at Foster Pepper, Seattle. Jane Pearson was elected president of the Federal Bar Association of the Western District of Washington. Kohei Yamamoto joined Cowan Miller & Lederman in Seattle.

Museums: Nan Garrison was named deputy director of external relations at the Henry Art Gallery, Seattle.

Technology: Will Wiegler was appointed chief marketing officer of The TAS Group, Seattle.
