An entity affiliated with developer Skanska USA bought a half-block in Seattle's fast-growing South Lake Union neighborhood Wednesday.
A vacant warehouse now sits on the property, which covers nearly an acre on Fairview Avenue North between Harrison and Republican streets. Skanska paid $11.6 million for the property, according to county records.
Skanska officials could not be reached late Wednesday to discuss their plans for the property. It is within blocks of Amazon.com's headquarters complex, biotech buildings and hundreds of new and planned apartments.
