AT&T in Washington state is planning to lay off about two dozen employees, most of them working in IT-related positions in the company's Bothell offices.
The layoffs are part of some "business changes" and restructuring at the company, said AT&T spokeswoman Anne Marshall. "AT&T's always evaluating operations across the company," she said.
The layoffs are scheduled to take place over the next few months, said Marshall, who added that some of those laid off will be offered positions with a vendor and others will "have the opportunity to seek other positions within AT&T."
AT&T employs about 4,500 people in Washington state and 256,210 worldwide, most of them in the U.S.
There will be some layoffs in other states as well — likely also coming from AT&T's IT operations. Marshall did not have an exact number.
