On the move: Ken Slack named executive chef at Sullivan's Steakhouse

Ken Slack was named the executive chef at Sullivan's Steakhouse in downtown Seattle. Slack has been in the hospitality industry since the age of 16, working in the summer at the Longacres racetrack (which closed in 1992) in Renton.

Slack attended the culinary-arts program at South Seattle Community College and then worked at Restaurants Unlimited, where he held positions at Cutters Bayhouse and Metropolitan Grill. In 2003, Slack opened The Cellar Bistro on Capitol Hill, an Italian bistro, which he sold in 2008.

Banking: Gretchen Kirkpatrick was hired as the website and database specialist at the Washington Bankers Association, Seattle.

Commercial real estate: Sam Ziemba joined Colliers International in Bellevue as a vice president.

Law: Christopher Marks was named managing partner at Sedgwick's new Seattle office. Lisa Sterritt was hired as office administrator at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt in Seattle. Ken Lederman joined Foster Pepper, Seattle.

Mobile entertainment: Kevin Britt was appointed vice president of monetization at skyrockit, Seattle.

Organizations: Michelle Nitz-Weiss was named the executive director at Washington Women in Need, Bellevue.

Restaurants: Molly Schachter was hired as communication coordinator at Mackay Restaurants Group.

Technology: Brian White was appointed vice president of products at Skytap, Seattle. Joe Barnes was named chief executive of DIGITAL 3000 in Sammamish.
