Other names submitted for the new Capitol Hill Park

Below is a list of the names submitted for consideration of the new Capitol Hill Park. The names and descriptions are provided by the Seattle Parks Department.

1. Gertrude Park -- for JP Patches' sidekick

2. Murray Morgan Park -- for the author and Seattle historian

3. Bill Speidel Park -- for the author and Seattle historian

4. Nirvana Park

5. 1990's Park -- for the decade of expansive growth

6. Walt Crowley Park -- for the author and Seattle historian

7. James Moore Park -- for the man who re-named Broadway Hill, Capitol Hill

8. Princess Angeline -- after Chief Seattle's Daughter

9. Capitol Hill Summit Park -- a simple, clear name that establishes its location on Capitol Hill.

10. Rainbow Park -- we have the most beautiful rainbows in our City.

11. Perugia Sister City Park -- The Sister City relationship with Perugia was established in 1992. They have established the Sister Orca Park in Perugia and would like to have one here.

12. Paradise Park

13. Unpaving Paradise Park -- recognize the history of how this park came to be.

14. Summit Park (2)

15. Larry Reid Art Park -- a pioneer in the Seattle Art scene. Still living.

16. Ted White Eagle -- A member of the Yakama/Nez Perce Tribes and who lived in Seattle for many years. Totem pole carver.

17. Summit Park -- fits the criteria because of the park's geographical location on Summit Ave. E.

18. Jin Joo Byrne Park -- was murdered in Charlotte NC after graduating from Summit HS in 2002. She was attending a Youth Leadership Program.

19. Hazel Wolf Park -- died in 2000, a long Seattle environmental activist.

20. Dr. James Foster -- was a Zoo veterinarian and eventually became Director of the Woodland Park Zoo. He was a skilled clinician, teacher, wilderness explorer, field scientist, parent and citizen.

21. Pricilla Collins Park -- a great benefactor for our wonderful city.
