Vulcan Real Estate this week began long-delayed closings of sales at its Enso condo project at Westlake Avenue and Denny Way.

The developer had planned to start closing sales last spring, but said it delayed to make sure it had committed buyers for at least half the 135 units, a key threshold for financing.

About 55 percent of the homes in the 19-story tower are sold, Vulcan said Tuesday.

Across the street, nearly 90 percent of the 208 apartments at Rollin Street, another recently completed project, have been leased, Vulcan said. Rollin Street was built as a condominium, but slow sales persuaded the developer to convert it to rentals earlier this year.
