Advanced Micro Devices sells $500M in senior notes

Chip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said Monday it will sell $500 million in senior notes in a private offering.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. —

Chip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said Monday it will sell $500 million in senior notes in a private offering.

The notes come due in 2017. Advanced Micro Devices said it expects $439 million in proceeds from the sale, and it will use the money to buy senior notes that are due in 2012. Any remaining funds will be used for general corporate purposes.

The offering will close Nov. 30, the company said.

Advanced Micro Devices shares were unchanged at $7 in aftermarket trading.
