Pfizer gets FDA approval for intravenous Revatio

Drug developer Pfizer Inc. said Friday the Food and Drug Administration approved an intravenous version of its high blood pressure drug Revatio.

NEW YORK —

Drug developer Pfizer Inc. said Friday the Food and Drug Administration approved an intravenous version of its high blood pressure drug Revatio.

The drug was already sold as a tablet. It is used as a treatment for adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension, which affects about 100,000 people worldwide.

Shares of Pfizer rose 14 cents to $18.25 in morning trading.
