Wyo. Sen. Enzi critical of House health care bill
U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi says legislation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives would increase the cost of health insurance.
The Associated Press
U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi says legislation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives would increase the cost of health insurance.
The Wyoming Republican is a member of the Senate finance and health committees, and he's been closely involved in negotiations over health care reform.
Enzi said Monday that the House bill would create "one of the largest bureaucracies money can buy."
President Obama cheered Saturday's passage of health care reform in the House. The bill would expand coverage to tens of millions of Americans who lack it and place new restrictions on the insurance industry.
U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis joined most other House Republicans in voting against the bill.
Enzi says it's not too late for the Senate to make changes to the health care system that he says "would benefit regular folks."
