The world of coffee

Taster's Choice

Six coffee experts describe some of their favorites from around the world

Interactive Graphic

Coffee tasting is a subjective art. What turns one person on — high acidity, a dark roast, big body — can taste like swill to another imbiber. People who taste coffee all the time learn to appreciate characteristics from various countries and use them to spice up, sweeten or tone down their blends. We asked six experts to describe some of their favorite coffees from around the world. They met recently at Atlas Coffee Importers in Seattle to taste the coffees they'd described. — By Melissa Allison / Seattle Times business reporter
