Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co. has been selling slower-growth brands to focus more on consumer businesses it thinks has higher potential. Some examples from the past year:

SOLD:

- Prescription drug business to Warner Chilcott PLC

- Noxzema skin care brand to Alberto-Culver Co.

- Folgers coffee to J.M. Smucker Co.

BOUGHT:

- Zirh, an upscale men's skin care line

- The Art of Shaving, high-end men's grooming

- Carnett's car washes, for rebranding as Mr. Clean car washes

ON THE BLOCK?

Other major brands analysts think P&G brands could sell include:

- Braun appliances

- Duracell batteries

- Pringles snacks
