CEO Pay 2008 | Top-paid non-CEOs
Top-paid non-CEOs CEOs weren't the only ones with multimillion-dollar pay packages last year.
CEOs weren't the only ones with multimillion-dollar pay packages last year.
Tamara Lundgren, then chief operating officer at Schnitzer Steel in Portland, received total compensation worth $8.8 million, including a stock award worth $2 million at the time it was given in December 2007, plus an additional award valued at $1.1 million in July 2008. (Schnitzer Steel's fiscal year ends in August, so her 2008 compensation includes the final four months of 2007.)
Lundgren's total pay would have ranked her fifth among CEOs, just behind Starbucks' Howard Schultz. In fact, Lundgren has since taken over as Schnitzer Steel's CEO. Here are the Northwest's five top-paid non-CEOs last year.
| Executive | Company | Title | Total pay |
| Tamara Lundgren | Schnitzer Steel | Exec. VP and chief operating officer | $8,823,292 |
| Thomas Szkutak | Amazon.com | Sr. VP and CFO | 7,651,650 |
| Charles Denson | Nike | President of the Nike brand | 6,081,047 |
| James L.K. Wang | Expeditors International | President, Asia | 5,689,898 |
| Brian Kevin Turner | Microsoft | Chief operating officer | 4,978,240 |
